Cora Emily Ashmore

Cora Emily Ashmore, 78, of McArthur, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan. She was born January 13, 1938 in South Bloomingville, Ohio, daughter of the late Marvin and Dorothy Woodgeard Woodard.

Cora was a former school bus driver for the Vinton County School District and a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in McArthur.

She is survived by her sons, Carl (Teresa) Ashmore of McArthur, Marvin (Cheryl) Ashmore of McArthur, George (Stacy) Ashmore of Creola and Jack Ashmore of McArthur; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Haze (Rhonda) Woodard of South Bloomingville; sister, Eva Hoover of Kentucky and a special friend, Virgil Davis of McArthur.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Woodard and grandson, Jeremy Ashmore.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Calvary Assembly of God Church, 63849 US Hwy 50, McArthur, with Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating. Interment will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
