Ruth Elaine Cullison

Ruth Elaine Cullison, 79, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at her daughter’s residence in Gallipolis. She was born April 2, 1937 in Columbus, daughter of the late Elsworth Whitmore and Mary Pyle Toops. Ruth was married to John L. Cullison, who survives.

She was a retired interior decorator and seamstress. Ruth was also the family spiritual leader.

Ruth is survived by her son, Gregory Conway of Gallipolis; daughters, Kimberly (Steve) Weese of Logan, Amy (Terry) Hawk of Nelsonville, Barbara “Mia” Thomas of Gallipolis and Rebecca (Steve) Hagerty of Logan; grandchildren, Janie Conway, Christopher Weese, Bethany Thomas, Taylor Sappington, Spencer Sappington, Seth Hopstetter and Nathaniel Thomas; great grandchildren, Christian Thomas, Aryana Sexton and Asher Thomas; brother, Wayne Whitmore and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Keith Hilderbrandt; great grandson, Elijah Thomas and sisters, Clara Cullison, Barbara Reid and Bonnie Kibby.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Gary Keller officiating. Interment will be in Wolfe Cemetery, Haydenville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 6-8 p.m.
