Charles Melvin Amerine, 81, of Logan, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at Heartland of Uptown Westerville. He was born July 14, 1935 in Vinton County, son of the late Chauncey Amerine and Geneva Congrove Jarvis.
He was a retired diesel mechanic, an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Haydenville United Methodist Church.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Alicia L. (James) Cardosi of Westerville; grandchildren, Michael and Adam Spangler, Anthony, Joshua and Noah Cardosi and great grandchildren Sarah and Michael Spangler Jr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Terry and Sherry Amerine; brothers, George Ringhiser and Larry Amerine and sisters, Hazel Acord and Betty Klump.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, September 16, 2016 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan with Rev. Ricci Arthur officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan with military graveside services being conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m.
