Charles J. Johnson, 91, of Logan, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Lanfair Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Care in Lancaster. He was born June 27, 1925 in Pickaway, County, son of the late Charles F. and Dorothy Brown Johnson. Charles was married to the late Nancy E. Wilson Johnson.
He retired from Columbus and Southern Electric and was a farmer. Charles was a WWII Navy Veteran where he served in the South Pacific Campaign. He was baptized in 1944 in St. Johns Lutheran Church. He was confirmed in 1950 and attended St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Charles is survived by his sons, Allan (Joy) Johnson of Logan and Leslie (Terry) Johnson of Sacramento, California; daughter, Linda Johnson of Groveport; grandchildren, Leanne (Jonathon) Cozad, Christopher (Faith) Johnson and Ryan Johnson; great granddaughter, Abigail Cozad and sister-in-law, Bettie Johnson.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Johnson.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2016 in Lithopolis Cemetery with his grandson, Christopher Johnson, officiating. No calling hours will be observed. A celebration of life service will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Logan Moose Social Hall, 701 E. Front St., Logan.
Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Charles J. Johnson to FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
