Rosemary Brown, 65, of Rockbridge, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. She was born November 1, 1950 in Bermuda, daughter of Nancy McFarlane Shields Openshaw of BC, Canada and the late John Neil Openshaw. Rosemary was the widow of the late Derl O. Brown.
Rosemary is a graduate from Bloomsburg University. She worked for the Berwick Offray Ribbon Manufacturing, the H.J. Heinz Company and was later an STNA, serving people within the area. Rosemary was a member of the Eagles, VFW ladies Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary, AMVETS Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Veteran's Affairs Lancaster Outpatient Clinic. Rosemary attended both the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church and the Logan Wesleyan Church.
In addition to her mother, Rosemary is survived by her sons, Robert Neil Stine and Andrew James Stine (and wife, Jennifer), both of Rockbridge; grandchildren, Alex Stine, Dalton Hall, Emily Stine, Jude Hull and Sawyer Stine; brother, Clive Openshaw of Vancouver, BC; sisters, Heather Roof of Logan and Sera Openshaw of France; niece, Linda Johnson and her pets, Snickers and Rex.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Friends may call from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
