Phyllis J. Palmerton, 73, of Logan, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan. She was born July 3, 1943 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Roscoe and Alma Stinnett Craft. Phyllis was the widow of the late Owen R. “Ray” Palmerton Jr.
She retired from the Department of Defense at Ft. Campbell Kentucky, where she was a relocation supervisor and she was the treasurer of PERI. Phyllis loved and was an avid supporter of Logan High School Athletics and the Logan Marching Chieftains.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Jim) Robinson of Logan; grandchildren, Raymond (Kristen) Robinson of Tiffin, Ohio, Robert (Amanda Mc Laughlin) Robinson of Duvall, Washington and Ralph (Katie) Robinson of Tiffin; great grandchildren, McKenzie Jo Robinson and Vivian Rose Robinson; brothers, Eldred, Sonny, Jerry, Charles, Paul and Dale Craft, all of Hopkinsville, Kentucky and sisters, Barbara Woosley of Orlando, Florida, Wilma Bishop of Missouri, Charlene Scott of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Brenda Spurlin of Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Wanda Porter of Memphis, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, Trey Palmerton.
At Phyllis’s request, private graveside services will be held in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge, with Rev. Ricci Arthur officiating. No visitation will be observed. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
Phyllis requests no flowers; however contributions may be made to the Chieftain Field House. Checks may be made to Chieftain Boosters and sent to Logan High School, c/o Teresa Schultheiss, 14470 SR 328, Logan, Ohio 43138.
