William "Bill" Arnold Armstrong

William “Bill” Arnold Armstrong, 81, of McArthur, was born June 9, 1935 in Springfield, Ohio and went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Bill was a loving husband of 61 years to Eva. He was an active member of McArthur Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Trustee and taught the adult Sunday school class. Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1962 and retired from Diamond Power.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Conley Armstrong; son, William (Carrie) Armstrong II; daughters, Cindy Fannin and Angela (Timothy) Oles; grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Grigsby, Travis (Natalie) Robson, Michael and Brian Fannin and Amanda Armstrong; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Jack Armstrong; several nieces and nephews and a foster daughter, Connie Pelletier.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Hysell Armstrong; father, Charles Armstrong; granddaughter, Grace Fannin Dunaway and brother, Charles “Dick” Armstrong.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the McArthur Free Will Baptist Church, 408 W. Main St., McArthur, with Pastor Jim Henderson officiating. Interment will be in Conley Family Cemetery, Creola. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur on Friday, from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
