Julia Ann Thompson

Julia Ann Thompson, 104, of The Plains, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in The Plains.  She was born January 22, 1912 in Columbus, daughter of the late John and Emma Powell Phillips.  Julia was the widow of the late Robert Thompson.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald L. Thompson of The Plains and Clifford Thompson of Florida; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a sister, Norma Hamilton of Doanville.

In addition to her parents and husband, Julia was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Thompson and Wanda Coon; sons, Robert and James Thompson; brothers, Jack and John Phillips and sisters, Arvella Wilson and Louise McCullough.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in The Plains Cemetery, The Plains, with Rev. Gary Alton officiating.  No calling hours will be observed.  Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
