Helen Louise Fout, 99, of McArthur, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at Maple Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in McArthur. She was born June 30, 1917 in Hocking County, daughter of the late John and Ella Eby Eveland. She was married to the late Langley C. “Shag” Fout for 63 years.
Helen was the co-owner of Fout’s General Store in McArthur until it closed in 1988. She was a former member of the McArthur Church of Christ and Otterbein Church. She was a member of Locust Grove Community Club and Order of Eastern Star, #128, McArthur.
She is survived by son, Aaron (Roz Reed) Fout of Grove City; grandchildren, Michael (Diane) Fout of Grove City, Christopher “Todd” (Anita) Fout of Ashville, Mitzi Fout of Georgia and Bruce (Sharon) Fout of Creola; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous great great-grandchildren; brother, Cecil (Sandy) Eveland of South Bloomingville; sister, Florence Brown of Amanda; many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Joyce Harper Fout; brothers, Marvin Eveland, John Eveland Jr. and Chester Eveland; sisters, Martha Karsner, Nora Schultz, Wilna Hedges and Mildred Lama.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur. Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be at Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call Wednesday, from 11-1 PM at the funeral home.
