Robert E. Windland, 91, of North Lewisburg, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Gables of Green Pastures in Marysville. He was born September 21, 1925 in Coolville, Ohio, son of the late Hartsel and Garnet Lott Windland.
Robert retired from Lennox Industries and Dublin Schools, was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #0239 in Worthington.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra McDonie of Columbus, Pamela Boyer of Waukegan, Illinois and Cheryl (Noah) Chaffin of North Lewisburg; grandchildren, Kevin Overly of Waukegan, Kara (Jason) Marques of Waukegan, Brian Chaffin of North Lewisburg and Jennifer (James) Evans of Mingo, Ohio; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Donald (June) Windland of St. Petersburg, Florida and sister, Margaret Parker of Pomeroy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Hillen Windland; second wife, Betty Board Windland; brothers, William, Wilbur and Dale Windland and sisters, Blondenna Markley and Blanche Cook.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Greenalwn Cemetery, Nelsonville, with military services being conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
