James H. Wachenschwanz

James H. Wachenschwanz, 63, of The Plains, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Ohio Health O’Bleness Hospital, Athens.  He was born December 15, 1953, son of the late Charles and Madeline M. Johnson Wachenschwanz.

Jim is survived by his longtime companion, Melissa Gilkey of The Plains; children, Jamie (Lyle) Gillum of Ray and Jason (Johna Jeffrey) Wachenschwanz of Logan; grandchildren, Brantley, Elizabeth, Trenton, Adriana, Amber and Gage; brother, Charles (Patsy) Wachenschwanz of Chauncey; sister Cathy Spooner of Chauncey and cousin Dan (Layna) Rodgers of Chauncey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jessie Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home with Rev Michael Thomas officiating.  Interment will be at Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. Friends may call Friday from11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
