Elsie I. Brown, 91, of Logan, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 14, 2017. She was born September 30, 1925 in Hocking County, daughter of the late Raymond B. and Gladys Weaver Blackstone. Elsie was the widow of the late Harold R. Brown.
She was a homemaker and an avid quilter. Elsie was a member of the Laurel Chapel UB Church and later was a member of West Pleasant Hill UB Church.
She is survived by her sons, Harold L. (Melody) Brown and Dale E. (Sharon) Brown, both of Logan; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Leona R. Rutter of Logan; faithful friends, Mary Chilcote and Marilyn Wells and a lifelong friend, Nina Sanders.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Sarah Skaggs and brother, Pearl Blackstone.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, March 17, 2017 at Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Pastor Malcolm Lanham officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Bremen. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 4-8 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Elsie I. Brown to FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
