James S. White, Jr.

James S. White Jr., 73, of Logan, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at his residence. He was born May 4, 1943, in Ambridge, Pennsylvania son of late James S. and Ethel Watenpool White Sr. He was married to his beloved wife, Bonnie E. Jones White who survives.

He owned and operated White’s BP and prior to that White’s SOHIO in Logan for over 35 years. He was a member of the Logan Lions Club and was a former member of the Logan Moose Lodge. He was greatly loved by his family and will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by his children, James S. (Tina) White III of North Carolina and Tammy S. (George) Carr of Lancaster; grandchildren, Lance (Erica) Carr of Lancaster and Kaela White; step-grandson, Dillon Roop; brother John E. (Barb Hinerman) White of Logan; sister, Dorothy (Gary) Fought of Alabama; brothers-in-law, Graham Swaim of Logan and Ron Bussard of Amanda; many loving nieces and nephews; and his special dog and companion “Rusty”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Robert L. White; sisters, Erma Swaim and Elizabeth Bussard.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are with Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
