Alice Crow Graves, 101, of McArthur, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at her residence. She was born January 21, 1916 in Vinton County, daughter of the late Ralph and Clara Hall Crow. Alice was the widow of the late Nial Clark Graves.
She was a retired employee for the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services. Alice was a member of the McArthur United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s Group. She was a former member of National Affiliated Garden Clubs of Ohio and was the past President of the McArthur Garden Club.
Alice is survived by her sons, Richard L. (Judith) Graves of La Mirada, California; her granddaughter, Pilar Graves of West Hollywood, California and caregivers, Mary Milhoan and Sarah Crumbley.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank, Pearl, Jack, Cecil, John, Ralph Jr., Max and Carl Crow and sisters, Mary Bobo, Frances Pollock, Juanita Landy and Gladys Sexton.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2017 in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Alice Crow Graves to the Vinton County Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 481, McArthur, Ohio 45651.
