Alice M. Thompson

Alice M. Thompson, 83, of Ray, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.  She was born October 20, 1934 in Lawrence County, Ohio, daughter of the late Guy and Hazel Nichols Buskirk.  Alice was the widow of the late Clifford S. Thompson.

She formerly worked at CMACAO Head Start in Columbus, was a former member of United Pilgrim Holiness Church in Columbus and attends Pleasant Valley Holiness Church in Vinton County.

Alice is survived by her son, Steven L. (Ruth) Thompson of Ray; daughters, Teresa (Gary) Will of Tennessee and Lisa (Robert) Syx of Carroll, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Garrett) Clark, Steven (Jaclyn) Thompson, Anthony (Amber) Thompson, Matthew (Katie) Syx, Courtney (James) Elliott and Ethan Will; eleven great grandchildren, Gavin and Landon Clark, Ava Thompson, Kaylee, Aubree and Roree Thompson, Jade and Ciara Elliott, Isabella and Eleanor Syx and Everly Will; a brother, David Buskirk of Ray, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many beloved caregivers.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin, Warren and Donald Buskirk; sister, Margie Logan and sister-in-law, Sarah Buskirk.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Phil DeMint officiating.  Interment will be in Bell Cemetery, Vinton County.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5-7 p.m.
