Alison Eastman

November 28, 1938 — February 21, 2018

Alison Eastman, 79, of Nelsonville, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at Brookside Rehabilitation in The Plains. Born November 28, 1938 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Col. Jay A. Abercrombie and Eleanor Hooper Eastman.

Alison grew up in a military family, and as a child, lived in Yokahama, Japan, Toul, France, and Frankfurt, Germany. Her favorite home was Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where the family lived the longest, 4 and a half years. Alison attended boarding school, St. George's in Vevey, Switzerland, and graduated from Frankfurt American High School in Germany. She attended the University of Maryland branch in Munich, Germany, and Lake Forest College in Illinois.

Alison loved horseback riding, and for a time boarded horses at her home in New Jersey. She was gifted in decoupage and furniture decorating, as well as a talented interior decorator, and her home was always a showplace.

She is survived by her four children, Kathleen Marie Tetlow of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, William Pilong (Diane) of Eugene, Oregon, Amy Whitmire of Magnolia, New Jersey, and Ron Klimoff of Philadelphia; five grandchildren, Kimarie, Brandon, Justin, Stephanie, and Amber, one great-granddaughter, Gaige, and two sisters, Amy Abercrombie of Waterloo Twp. and Alexa Ross, of Nelsonville, and niece and nephew, Rebecca Perkins and Willie Perkins (Alexandra Kamody), and two great-nieces, Blossom and Greta Fabian, and one great-nephew, Jonathan Perkins.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a former husband, Ralph Klimoff.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service, in accordance with Alison's wishes. The family wishes to thank the staff at Brookside Rehabilitation in The Plains and Hospice for their loving care of Alison.

Arrangements are by the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville.
