Amanda Nichole Jordan

Amanda Nichole Jordan, 44, of Pomeroy, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.V. She was born on September 8, 1980, in Athens. She was married to Joseph Scott Jordan who survives.

Amanda could easily light up any room under any situation. She made everyone feel loved, both people and animals. Amanda’s grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a vet tech with Meigs Veterinary Service and was well loved by her clients and their fur babies. Amanda was a member of the Brothers of the Wheel, SE Ohio Chapter, where her nickname was “Squirrel”. She will also be remembered for always being late for everything.

Amanda is survived by her husband, Joe; parents, Margaret (Michael) Jonas of Mainville and Larry Baughman of Navasota, Texas; daughter, Lexi Rutter (Tyler Johnson) of Rutland; sons, Tyler Rutter (Rochelle Wolfe) of Columbus, Brayden Joseph Jordan (Victoria Curtis) of Pomeroy, and Zachary Love of Pennsville; grandchildren, Avery Elise Johnson, Vivian Grace Rutter, and Avah Lanay Grace; sisters, Hayley Winchell of Glouster, Wendy Ann (Jason) Black of Bryan-College Station, Texas, and Kay Beth (Anthony) Rueda of Texas; brothers, Steve (Elisha) Rife of Nelsonville, Kyle Duffy of Bryan-College Station, Texas, and Riley Baughman of New Jersey; parents-in-law, Joseph L. and Bernita Jane Jordan of Albany; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved dogs, Biggie, B.J., Luna, and Khaleesi.

Amanda was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Eileen Wend, and paternal grandfather, John Chet Baughman.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville. Family and friends may visit from 12 to 2 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
