Amity Jamila Swanson, 49, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at her home. She was born on October 1, 1975, in Columbus, the daughter of Beverly Hughes and the late Bruce Diltz.
Amity was an amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, always putting family first and creating wonderful memories for all to cherish. Her love and dedication to her family were unmatched. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of everyone she met. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, making the world a brighter place with her unwavering compassion.
Amity is survived by her fiancé, Joshua Adams; son, Alexander Williams of Dayton; granddaughter, Presley of Columbus; mother, Beverly Hughes of Nelsonville; brothers, Sean (Priscilla Hernandez) Cavote of New York City, Jason Edward Bousquet of Mount Vernon, and Christopher Scott Diltz of Dayton; and sisters, Stacey Taylor of Louisville, KY, Teri Michelle (James) Cooperrider of Newark, and Mirisa Elise (Jesse) Reed of Maricopa, AZ.
Amity was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Diltz; stepfather, Edward Swanson; and grandparents, Leo and Wilma Hughes.
In accordance with Amity’s wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are through the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
