Andy Wayne Monk

Andy Wayne Monk, 63, of Nelsonville, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, at O’Bleness Hospital in Athens. He was born December 10, 1958, in Athens, the son of Andrew Jackson “Jack” Monk and the late Patricia Figgins Monk.

Andy worked as a Millwright and he loved to work hard and play hard.  He enjoyed 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, and riding Harleys.

Andy is survived by his daughters, Jeanny (James Gilbraith) Monk of Nelsonville and Jayd (Jimmy McDonald) Monk of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Kearstin, Evelynn, Madison, Steven, Izick, and Ivie; brother, Allen (Laura) Monk of Nelsonville; and sisters, Amy (Jeff) Savings of Logan and Angie Monk of Nelsonville.

In addition to his mother, Andy was preceded in death by the mother of his daughters, Denise Oliver.

A celebration of Andy’s life will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
