Annabelle Manning Murray, age 88, of Edgewood Manor, Wellston, Ohio, formerly of McArthur, entered into the Gates of Heaven November 19, 2018 after an extended illness. God saw that she was very tired, and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around her and whispered: “Come to me.”
Annabelle was born February 14, 1930 in Aurora, Indiana, the daughter of the late Rev. Ervin and Bessie (Strickland) Manning. The Mannings moved to Columbus, Ohio and raised their family in Franklin County.
On July 17, 1954 she married Ronald W. Murray and to this union were born seven children and the children are blessed with two older half-brothers. Surviving are five daughters, Ruth Ann (Andy) Cline of McArthur, Brenda (Robin) Fee, of McArthur, Sheila (Terry) Stickel, of Lockbourne, Mary (Nick) Fair of Heath, Tina (Brendt) Osborne of Wellston and one son, Gregory. W. Murray of Chillicothe; and the children’s half-brothers, Ronald K. (Lesa) Murray of Frankfort and Mike (Kathy) Murray of Chillicothe; also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Andrea (Carl) Williams, Megan (Nalin) Arthur, Melissa (Ryan) Caudill, Shane Barber, T.J. (Tracy) Stickel, Aimee (Bryan) Kinser, Josh Royster, Samantha Fair, Chris Osborne, Shawn (Allie) Murray and Kelsey Murray; eight great-grandchildren, Emma, Broc, Karis, Adelyn, Brylee, Taytem, Kemper and Zara. Survived by one brother, Don Manning of Tampa, Florida and several nieces and nephews and best friend, Donna Dye.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Ronald W. Murray, one infant son, Jeff; one granddaughter, Amber Stickel; one son-in-law, Gary A. Barber; five sisters, Irene Stratton, Evelyn Dudley, Lottie Britton, Shirley Tullos and Wilma Jean Starr and three brothers, James, Denny and Junior Manning.
Though her life may have ended on this earth, Annabelle will forever be at peace with her Lord.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in the McArthur United Methodist Church, 200 S. Market St., McArthur, with Rev. Dr. Walt Goble officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
