Barbara Ruth (Chamberlain) Chatfield Young passed away on October 31, 2024, in Lewis Center, Ohio. Barbara was born on March 13, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio and was a 1956 graduate of McArthur High School, McArthur, Ohio. Barbara enjoyed music throughout her life, playing tenor saxophone and performing with a vocal sextet during high school, and singing with the Voices of Naples community chorus and the East Naples United Methodist Church Choir while living in Naples, Florida. Barbara was also an accomplished pianist who enjoyed playing duets with friends; she continued to play classical and contemporary piano pieces for her personal enjoyment until her final illness.
Barbara was preceded in death by her brother Herbert Chamberlain, sister Deborah Amundson, and spouses Richard Chatfield and John Young. She is survived by children Mark (Doreen) Chatfield, and Sheryl (Don Mutchler) Chatfield, stepchildren Patti (Jim) Cox, John (Sheila) Young, Jim (Patty) Young, Steven (Lisa) Young, Daniel (Billie) Young, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Elk Cemetery, McArthur, Ohio at 11 a.m. on November 14, with Rev Dr. Randy Hardman officiating. Donations to the American Cancer Society are requested in lieu of flowers.
