Betty Ann Bails

Betty Ann Bails, 84, of Nelsonville, passed away at her home on Thursday, August 8, 2024. She was born on March 19, 1940, in Nelsonville, the daughter of the late Melvin and Frances (Locke) Guess. Betty was the widow of the late Harold Ambrose Bails.

Betty tremendously enjoyed her coffee and ice cream outings with her daughter, Renee. She was a loyal Ohio State Football fan and adored her dog, Chris. Together with her husband, Harold, Betty managed Bails Auto Service in Nelsonville. She was also a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Logan.

Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Mike Williams of Logan; cousin, Tom Guess; nephew Mike Guess; great-nephew Rob Guess; friends and neighbors, Ronnie and Karen Wend and Jeff and Maria Snodgrass; and her dog, Chris.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, Harold; and brother, Bob Guess; and nephew, J.J. Guess.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 351 N. Market St, Logan. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are through the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville.
