Betty J. Keiffer, 96, of Logan, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Logan Care and Rehabilitation Center in Logan. She was born May 18, 1922 in Logan, Ohio, daughter of the late Dewey and Jennie Fickel Howdyshell. Betty was the widow of the late Wayne Keiffer.
In her younger years she worked at Godman Shoe Company in Logan and Brooks Shoe Company in Nelsonville. Betty Attended Trinity United Methodist Church and was a member of the Logan Moose Lodge.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Larry) Eberst of Logan and Karla Cook of Logan; grandchildren, Tamara (Brent) Stumbo, Kevin Eberst, Todd (Tami) Eberst, Bryan Eberst and Valorie (Dennis) Buttrick; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Dale (Lorraine) Howdyshell of Logan; sister, Norma (Bill) Palmer of Logan and brother-in-law, Jerry Yinger of Nelsonville.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Bond; brothers, Walter, Charles and Roger Howdyshell and sisters, Ruth Nice and Edna Yinger.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
