Betty L. Mccann

Betty L. McCann, 88, of Columbus, formerly of McArthur, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.  She was born May 19, 1930 in Hue, Ohio, daughter of the late Herman W. Engle and Clarice Burroughs Waldron.  Betty was the widow of the late James McCann.

She retired from the State of Ohio.

Betty is survived by her brother, Gene (Garnet) Engle of McArthur; half-brother, Jerry (Sabrina) Engle of New Plymouth; half-sister, Rosemary Harbarger of Logan; niece, Lisa Graves of McArthur; stepdaughter-in-law, Joyce McCann of Plano, Texas; two step granddaughters, Melinda Casselman of McKinney, Texas and Lori Hicks of Rogers Arkansas and a special friend and companion, Thomas Piner Jr. of Columbus.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepson, James McCann Jr. and half-brother, Gary Engle.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2018 in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating.  No calling hours will be observed.  Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
