Beverly Jo Atkinson

Beverly Jo Atkinson 87, of New Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her family. She was born February 3, 1938, in The Plains to the late James & Beatrice (Preston) Rutter. She was married to the late Thomas Atkinson Sr. of New Marshfield. 

Beverly is survived by her daughter, Loretta (Kenny Doherty) Atkinson of New Marshfield; sons, Thomas “TJ” Atkinson Jr. of New Marshfield and Eric (Rachael Young) Atkinson of The Plains; stepson, Joesph “Joe” Fulton of Jacksonville; adopted son, James “Jim” Miller of Athens; adopted daughter, Susan Griffiths of Columbus; her grandchildren, Andrew (Abigail Lintz) Hutchins, James Atkinson, Michaela (Lucas Riggs) Copenhaver, Dallas Atkinson, Savanha Atkinson, Preston Atkinson, Zackary “Zack” Atkinson, Trinity Doherty, and Aubree King-Atkinson; and one great grandchild, Lilly Hutchins. She is also survived by her sister/ best friend, Janet Mourn along with many nieces, nephews, close family, friends. and her 2 fur babies (pups) Precious and Buddy. 

In addition to her late husband Tom and parents James and Beatrice, Beverly was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Dobbs and Shelia Linton; brothers-in-law, Harold “Wimpy” Mourn and John Linton.

Beverly’s wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville.
