Billy Richardson Clark

Billy Richardson Clark, 87, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday May 22, 2018 at Ohio Health O’Bleness Hospital in Athens. He was born May 8, 1931 in Middleport, Ohio, son of the late Cyrus James and Sylvia Marie Taylor Clark. He was married to Hazel Windle Clark, for 66 years, who survives.

He was retired with the U.S. Army after 23 years of service, and served his country during the Korean and VietNam Conflicts. He was greatly loved by his family and will be sadly missed.

Along with his wife, he is survived by daughters, Carolyn Ann Glenn of Nelsonville and Patty Sue (James) Shutt of Alabama; 5 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; brother, Max (Sharon) Clark of Columbus; sister, Mona Lee Lynch of Columbus; sister in law, Donna (Tom) Dingus of Sunbury; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Carlos Haga and sister Ola Mae Harris.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday May 29, 2018 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Interment with military graveside honors will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville.  Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
