Brian Keith Dowler

Brian Keith Dowler, 57, of Nelsonville, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at O’Bleness Hospital in Athens. Brian was born on March 18, 1965, in Nelsonville, the son of the late Lewis and Carrole (Glass) Dowler Sr.

Brian enjoyed working for many years in maintenance at O’Bleness Hospital. He enjoyed the outdoors and wildlife. He was an avid hunter and had one exceptional buck listed with the Boone and Crockett Club. Brian was well loved by his family and many friends.

Brian is survived by his wife, Betty Edwards Dowler; sons, Gregory Dowler of Richwood, Ohio and Seth Barber of The Plains; daughter, Brieana Edwards of The Plains; brothers, Lewis Wayne (Debra) Dowler of Athens and Rodney (Debbie) Dowler of Guysville; uncle, Clair (Leann) Glass; aunt, Edith Wend; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth (Alex) Merriell, Jennifer (Johnny) Buck, Zachary (Candace) Dowler, Candyss (Rodney) Bryant, Logan Dowler, and Justine Dowler; and great nieces and nephews, Ava Merriell, Olivia Merriell, Charlie Dowler, and Jasmin Bryant.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, February 23, 2023, in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Phil Foster officiating. Friends may visit from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the services.
