Carolyn K. O'Nail

Carolyn K. O’Nail, 71, of The Plains, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.  She was born December 28, 1946 in Athens County, the daughter of the late Harry W. and Violet D. Lester Staten.  She was married to Homer E. O’Nail Jr., who survives, for 53 years.

Carolyn was a 1964 graduate of Chauncey-Dover High School and was retired from JCPenney.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Patrick (Missy) O’Nail of The Plains and Gene (Linda) O’Nail of Chauncey; grandchildren, Cory (Cherokee) Ringer, Heyley Thomas, Gavin O’Nail and Logan O’Nail; great grandchildren, Kinsley and Ryder Ringer; sisters, Patricia Staten of Chauncey, Lovinna (Jerry) Hope of Santa Anna, California and Marilynn Martin of Hockingport and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Staten and a sister, Pearl Henry.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 11 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
