Carolyn A. Wilson

Carolyn A. Wilson, 86, of New Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. She was born April 24, 1937, in Buchtel, the daughter of the late Elden Vincent “Yie” and Edith “Jeane” (Kirkendall) McQuaid.

Carolyn retired from Goodyear in Logan. Carolyn was the matriarch of her beloved family and will be dearly missed by many.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Vicki (Gary) Duff, Cindy (Dave) Stevens, Rick Wilson, Chuck (Barb) Wilson, Jeff (Angie) Wilson, Kevin (Missy) Wilson, Greg (Sherrie) Wilson, Monica (Paul) Huston, and Terry Wilson (Mike Roe); 27 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sister, Cheryl “Sherry” Dishong; brother, Tony (Patricia) McQuaid; sister-in-law, Diane McQuaid; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles “Buck” Wilson and later, Amos “George” Sorrell; brothers, Barry McQuaid, Brent McQuaid, and Dean McQuaid; brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Dishong; and grandson, Jeffrey Mohney.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville, with Pastor David Shoemaker officiating. Interment will be in Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service.
