Catherine “Kitty” Dawley, 68, of Carbon Hill, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at her residence. She was born September 20, 1951 in Logan, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Ossie and Ruth Runyon Nelson. She was married to Russ Dawley, who survives, for almost 49 years.
Kitty was a caregiver and a second mom to many in her life. She worked in nursing as an aide and retired as a 911 dispatcher. She was a member of Eastern Star and was a formerly a Cub Scout Den Mother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Scott R. Dawley of Nelsonville and Don C. (Stefanie Bonanno) Dawley of Buchtel; grandchildren, Bryanna N., Paige M., Keira D., Ian B. and Audrey L. Dawley; brother, Bud (Judy) Nelson of Hockingport; Sisters, Bobbi (Sam) Adams of South Point, Doris (Sampy) Adams of Culpeper, Virginia, Dorcas (Danny) Bourne of Chapmanville, West Virginia and Diane (Anthony) Pennington of Guysville; father-in-law, Jim Dawley; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Kitty was preceded in death by three infant sisters, Brenda, Bonnie and Betty.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville. Interment will be at Carbon Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
