Charlene Peoples, 67, of Hamden, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in Columbus. She was born September 11, 1956, in Pike County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jessie James and Pansey Hopkins Coleman. Charlene was the widow of the late Kenneth L. Peoples Sr.
For the past 40 years, she worked for in home healthcare. Charlene was a very compassionate person who was never selfish, very giving and always put others before herself.
She is survived by her sons, Jason (Joy) Peoples of McArthur, Timothy Peoples of McArthur and Kenneth L. Peoples Jr. of Jackson; daughter, Tawnya (Jamie) McCown of Radcliff; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way; sister, Lerlie Peoples; brothers, Marshall Coleman, Dean Coleman, Arthur Coleman, Terry Coleman, Bob Coleman, Odell Coleman and Shan Coleman and her significant other, Bobby East.
In addition to her parents and husband, Charlene was preceded in death by her stepfather, Henry Stewart and several brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held 12 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at Garrett Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Elder Danny Prater officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
