Charles "Bud" Roger Peters

Charles “Bud” Roger Peters, 83, of McArthur, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022, at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital in Athens.  He was born September 7, 1938, in Prattsville, Ohio, son of the late Clyde E. and Goldie Reeves Peters.  Bud was married to the late Marlene Faye McDonald Peters.

He formerly owned and operated the McArthur BP and worked in the strip mines as a heavy equipment operator.  Growing up, Bud helped his dad on the farm and graduated from Zaleski High School.

He is survived by his children, Diana (William) Pinney, Chris (Joyce) Peters, Trish (Leonard) Steyer and Bobby (Rena) Peters; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Bud was preceded in death by his son, Chad Peters; sisters, Lucille Rieter, Maxine Erickson and Floramel Metzler and brothers, Emerson and Robert Peters.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2022, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating.  Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
