Charles David "Dave" Gretz

Charles David “Dave” Gretz, 61, of Logan, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born in Nelsonville, to the late William B. Gretz and LouAnn Farrow Fouty. Dave was married to the love of his life, Sheryl, for 45 years.

Dave was an Army Veteran. He was also a former employee of Mennel Milling for 34 years. Dave enjoyed spending time with his family and riding four-wheelers.

In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by his 2 children, Michael (Amanda) Gretz of Murray City and Christina (Corey) Nickels of Nelsonville. Dave was a proud grandfather to four children that he loved dearly; Christalyn and Brantley Nickels and Kennedy and Jackson Gretz. Also, 3 sisters, Brenda Kasler and Linda Stumbo of Nelsonville, and twin sister, Debbie Giddy of Canada. Sisters-in-law, Betty Traugh, Carolyn “Cis” Johnson, Renee Johnson, and Noreen Gretz. Many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two special friends, Delbert “Mac” McDonald and Jake Hall.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Don and Lois Johnson; brother, William Gretz; brothers-in-law, Donald Johnson Jr., Don Powell, and Jim Stumbo. Sister-in-law, Carolyn (Henry) Martin.

There will be a celebration of life scheduled for a later date. Arrangements by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
