Charles Robert Schrader

Charles Robert Schrader, 89, of Logan, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Bob was born July 24, 1934, in Nelsonville, Ohio, the son of the late Charles Joseph and Virgie (Glenn) Schrader. He was married to Leola May (Estep) Schrader who survives.

He was married to Leola on March 28, 1958, and they enjoyed 65 years together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. He liked to reminisce on old times, like what it used to be like in Logan. He liked his old car and loved to attend antique car shows and cruise-ins. He retired from Carborundum with 37 years. He served in the U.S. Army 7th Infantry 3rd Division and was stationed in Germany. He was a Boy Scout Troop Committee chairperson for Troop 254 of Enterprise for many years. He was a 31 year past member of the Marion Grange and was also a member of Pamona National Grange. He was a member of the Shepherd of the Valley UB in Christ Church.

Bob is survived by his wife, Leola; children, Bobby (RaJean) Schrader of Union Furnace, Gary Schrader of Logan, and Karen (John) Lines of Lancaster; grandchildren, Christopher Schrader and Audra (Sean) Cochran all of Union Furnace, Chuck Schrader of Columbus, Kimberly Lines of Lancaster, and Jessica (Jon) Andersen of Hilliard, Ohio; great grandchildren, Stacie, Olivia, and Joseph Schrader, William, Chloe, Allison, Jackson, and Audra Wavalene Cochran all of Union Furnace, and Connor, Abigail, and Lauren Andersen of Hilliard; and sisters, Helen Clonch and Sharon McManaway both of Logan.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard, Thomas, and Paul; and sister, Virginia Hagan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan, with Pastor Sheryl Rawlings officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan with military rites by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Family and friends may visit from 4 to 6 pm Monday at the funeral home.
