Clara L. Klinger, 91, of Logan, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Le Conte Medical Center in Sevierville, Tennessee. She was born April 25, 1927 in Irvington, Virginia, daughter of the late Ammon A. Ashburn and Evelyn V. Tellis Ashburn Shelton. Clara was the widow of the late Gene E. Klinger.
She was a member of the Logan Church of The Nazarene.
Clara is survived by her sons George (Cindy) Klinger of Athens and Gene (Debbie) Klinger of Logan; daughter Patricia (Larry Hines) Krannitz of Logan; grandchildren Tammy (Woody) Hicks, Heath (Desra) Krannitz, Jearamy (Tiffany) Klinger, Sarah (Cody) Bail, Keri Parker, Kelsy (Nolan) Kirby, Kati (Patrick McIntosh) Klinger and Patrick (Maureen Mierke) Klinger; great grandchildren Lauren, Gunner, Nick (Stephanie), Hunter, Carter, Braxton, Brooklyn, Jameson, Harper, Lea and Brendan; great great grandchildren Landen, Miles and Grayson; brother-in-law Bill Allderige; nieces Belinda, Laura and Leah and a special thank you to Irene Davis.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son Charles E. Klinger; son-in-law Terry Krannitz; sister Peggy Allderige; brother Jessie (Lorraine) Shelton; stepfather John T. Shelton and aunt Rose Tellis.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Thomas L. Gates II officiating. Entombment will be in New Fairview Mausoleum, Rockbridge. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
