It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Runyon, 75, announces that he went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Dan was born on November 18, 1942 in Lenore, West Virginia to the late Nick and Della (Adkins) Runyon. He is survived by five siblings, Harrison (Barb) Runyon, Dave (Agnes) Runyon, Jerry (Vickie) Runyon, Donald (Pam) Runyon and Garnet (George) Colvin; five children, Missy (Mike) Runyon-Copeland, Brian (Angie) Runyon, Matthew (Ashley) Runyon, Jennifer (Jeremy Pollock) Runyon and Curtis (Durstean Webb) Runyon; grandchildren, Kathleen (Lee) Burns, Anthony (Nikki) Runyon, Jeffrey (Whitney Page) Runyon, Jaci Runyon, MacKenzie Runyon, MaKayla Runyon, Preston Runyon, Jaden Runyon, Darren Runyon, Aubrey Pollock, Riley Runyon, Alex Runyon, Averi Runyon, Alyssa Runyon, Devon Runyon, Aiden Runyon and Ashton Runyon; step granddaughter Hannah Pollock; great grandchildren, A’Laysha and W’Lajsha Burns, Anthyiah, Jeremy, Jaydon, Nickois, Antonio Darrell, Jaxen, Carsyn, Jeffrey Darrell and Alexander Runyon and daughters-in-law, Stephanie Runyon and Barbara Runyon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Ida Louise Garner and Juanita Runyon, brother Junior, sons, Jeffrey, Darrell and Clifford Runyon.
Dan was retired from self-employment here he spent countless hours and time away from his family in the logging industry. He built his own business, M & C Inc. and his own home in Wilkesville, OH where he lived most of his life. He was an extremely hard worker that all his children admired. He attended church at Maggie’s Home in Dundas, Ohio as part of the Old Regular Baptist faith. His love for bluegrass music and playing the guitar are shared by his children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2018 at Maggie’s Home Church, Dundas, with Elder Jerry Runyon officiating. Interment will be in Vinton Memorial Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio. Visitation will be held at Maggie’s Home Church on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m.
