Darlene G. Maynard

Darlene G. Maynard, 87, of Nelsonville, formerly of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at O’Bleness Hospital in Athens.  She was born September 15, 1934, in Ethel, West Virginia to the late Ernest and Lucille Bircher Bartley.  She was the widow of the late Kenneth Maynard.

Darlene is survived by her daughters, Deborah Darlene Gossard of Lima, Ohio and Catherine (John) Waxler of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Andrew (Ronda) Gossard, Erin (Mike) Shaffer, Douglas Gossard, Dakota (Caitlin) Waxler, Cheyenne (Cody) Sampson, Damian (Shannon) Gossard, Khaleesi Sampson, Linc Conrad, Olivia Shaffer, and Lucas Shaffer; and great great granddaughter, Savanna Gossard.

In addition to her parents and husband, Darlene was preceded in death by her sister, Shirlene Sturgis and son-in-law, Roger Gossard.

Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 15, 2021, in Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon, Ohio.  Arrangements by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
