David Andrew Allen Sr

David Andrew Allen Sr, 80, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025. David was born on July 12, 1944, in Union Furnace, the son of the late Frank and Helen (Bentley) Allen. He was married to Gloria (Grantham) Allen who survives.

David had previously worked for the family business, Allen Lumber and he retired from Goodyear in Logan. He was a member of The Tree Church in Lancaster. David will be greatly missed and loved by many.

David is survived by his wife, Gloria; son, David Andrew (Mary Jo) Allen Jr of Nelsonville; daughter, Angela (Terry) McClain of Nelsonville; step children, Danny James (Rebecca) Mount of Frost Proof, Florida, Crystal (John) Tubbs of Union Furnace, Tammy (Michael) Sabin of Stokesdale, NC, and Angela Griffith of Lancaster; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and special friends, Barney, Diane, and John.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen; and brothers, John Allen and Frank Donald Allen Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville, with Pastor Mark Barbee officiating. Interment will be in Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
