Debra Sue Maccombs

Debra Sue Maccombs, 56, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday September 9, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  She was born January 13, 1962 in Nelsonville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Daniel P. and Dora May Forbes Mays.  She was married to Ray Allen Maccombs, for 29 years, who survives.

She was a graduate of Nelsonville York High School, and was a Dispatcher for the Athens County Sheriff Department.  Member of Nelsonville Wesleyan Church.  She was greatly loved by her family and will be sadly missed.

Along with her husband, Debra is survived by sons, Cody (Eden) Maccombs of Nelsonville and Jeffrey Cullison of Lancaster; daughters, Myra Maccombs and Sara Maccombs both of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Hailie, Ellie and Jed, and Melissa, Madison and Jaxson; brothers, Donald (Mary Beth) Mays of Wellston, Danny Mays of Carbon Hill and Douglas Mays of Columbus; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 6:00 p.m. Wednesday September 12, 2018 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating.  Cremation will follow the services.  Friends may visit Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
