Dennis Lee Kish Sr.

Dennis Lee Kish Sr., 74, of Nelsonville, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at O’Bleness Hospital, Athens. Dennis was born on August 20, 1950, in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, to the late Vincent and Madeline Mae (Matheny) Kish.

Dennis retired from Ohio University where he worked in the maintenance department. He was an avid lover of classic cars. He loved his grandchildren and always enjoyed watching their sports events.

Dennis is survived by his sons, Dennis Kish Jr. of Lancaster and Scott (Dawn) Kish of Millfield; daughter, Angie (Jonathan) Hooper of Glouster; grandchildren, Charles (Tori), Jacob, Nikki, Jordan, Katelyn, Brayden, Harley, and Jon Michael; great grandchildren, Nova, Asher, and Callen; brother, Vincent (Bing) Kish of Nelsonville; sister, Brenda Mace of Nelsonville; special caregiver, Bree “Cry Baby” Bateman; uncle, Chuck (Anita) Matheny; and several nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eddie Kish; sister, Linda Orcutt; and his beloved Yorkie, Cindy aka “Stinky”.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville. Interment will be in Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. Family and friends may visit from 4 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service.
