Denver Raymond Johnson Sr.

Denver Raymond Johnson, Sr., 79, of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, peacefully at his home. He was born October 9, 1943, in Nelsonville to the late Clarence and Vaundell (Sampsill) Johnson.

Denver enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to auctions. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his great grandchildren.

Denver is survived by three children, Teresa Johnson of Nelsonville, Karen (Dan) Dinsmoor of Athens, and Denver (Ron Felton) Johnson of Weatherford, Texas; three grandchildren, Kaylyn (Josh Berry) Johnson of Nelsonville, Brea (Chad Alvis) Young of Millfield, and Olivia Young; three very special great grandchildren, Graclyn and Graden Thomas and Marcus Alvis. He is also survived by two sisters, Patty Howson and Delores Storts; sisters-in-law, Marchetta Johnson, Nancy Johnson, and Mary Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Denver was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Connie Sue (Elliott) Johnson; seven brothers, Junior, Don, Bob, Clyde, Carl, Arthur, and Jack Johnson; two sisters, Marilyn Johnson and Darlene Johnson Martin; and son-in-law, Scott Young.

At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are by the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
