Diane Kay Welch, 72, of Logan, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. Diane was born on February 23, 1952, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Glen and Jean (Clatworthy) Zickefoose.
Diane was a true artisan. She was the manager of Home Grown on Main for several years and was active with the Hocking Hills Tourism Association. Diane enjoyed all kinds of art, particularly bead weaving, and she formed many lasting friendships within the local artist community. She was known for her strength, grace, and kindness, touching the lives of everyone she met.
Diane is survived by her daughter, Laura (Mike McCloy) Welch of Blacklick; grandchildren, Ireland McCloy and Maeve McCloy; sisters, Janice (James) Robins of Hagerstown, Maryland and Nancy Thomas of Chantilly, Virginia; Ben and Laura’s father, Byron (Sharon) Welch; and her beloved pets, Bella and Willow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Benjamin Welch; brother-in-law, Joseph Thomas; and paternal grandmother, Alcinda “Grandma Cindy” Zickefoose.
No services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are by the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan.
The family suggests donations be made in memory of Diane to the Hocking County Humane Society.
