Donna Jean Scott

Donna Jean Scott, 81, of Delaware passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 after a short illness.  She was born on January 23, 1936 in Vinton County, Ohio, daughter of the late Dorothea Cassill.

Donna was a 1953 graduate of Allensville High School.   She attended The Ohio State University where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Education in 1957.  Donna was an elementary teacher in several districts.  Later in her career, she earned a Master's degree in Education from Indiana University.  After retirement, Donna also worked as a substitute teacher.  Donna enjoyed travel, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Scott, brother, William Cassill, and mother Dorothea Cassill.

She is survived by her son, Bob Scott of Delaware and daughter Susan Scott of Delaware.

A remembrance gathering will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jerry Griffith Jr. officiating.  Friends may gather from 12 noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Internment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Vinton County, at a later date.
