Donna Jean Scheeler, 87, of Ray, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. She was born July 25, 1936, in Vinton County, Ohio, daughter of the late Benjamin and Eunice Graves Gearing. Donna Jean was married for 53 years to Royce E. Scheeler, who survives.
She was a retired librarian for Vinton County Schools and attended Antioch Kelly Church in Allensville. Donna Jean was everyone’s angel who enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and cooking.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her son, Jeffrey Waldron of Ratcliffburg; grandchildren, Bryan (Genia) Bledsoe of McArthur, Brenna (Robbie) Crowe of Allensville and Jennifer (Nick) Sparks of Ray; great grandchildren, McKenna (Bo) McIntire, Luke Bledsoe, Shelby (Dakota) Williams, Jenna Crowe, Trinity (Easton) Canode, Breanna (Isaiah) Ousley, Aden Woodgeard, Joshua Woodgeard and Apollo Sparks; great great grandchildren, Oakley Canode and Hudson Williams; brothers, Roger (Nancy) Gearing of Ratcliffburg and Ronald (Marge) Gearing of Allensville; sister, Cheryl (Steve) Davidson of Ratcliffburg and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Donna Jean was preceded in death by her daughter, Debora Bledsoe; son, David Waldron; brother, Lloyd Gearing and sister, Peggy Frizzell.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, May 16, 2024, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Jason Kight officiating. Interment will be in Londonderry Cemetery, Londonderry. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
