Donnalea C. Phinney, 85, of Germfask, Michigan, formerly of Logan and Worthington, Ohio, passed away Tuesday December 25, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born December 24, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Willis Raymond and Wavalene Bickel Cain. She was married to George Jay Phinney, for 65 years, who survives.
She was an RN, and worked for Worthington Public Schools. She earned her BSN and Bachelors of Education Degrees, and a Masters Degree in Psychology. She was a member of Gibisonville United Methodist Church; Lions Club of Manistique Lakes, MI and Seney Natural History Association in Michigan.
Along with her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Melinda Phinney of Fairlawn, Ohio.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Cain.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday January 6, 2019 at Gibisonville UMC, 16228 St. Rt. 678, Rockbridge, OH, 43149. Pastor John Williams officiating. Friends may visit 12 noon until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
