Dora Jo Ayers

Dora Jo Ayers, 87, of Logan, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Logan Health Care Center.  She was born February 2, 1930 in Athens County, daughter of the late Mary Ellen (Rolland) Pack Starr.  Dora was the widow of the late Ronald Keith Ayers who passed away July 31, 1998.

She was a 1948 graduate of Logan High School, a former manager for the License Bureau in Hocking County and administrative assistant for several doctors and attorneys in Logan.  Dora was a member of Kline Memorial United Methodist Church in Logan.

She is survived by her son, Brian K. (Melissa) Ayers of Houston, Texas; grandson, Clayton R. Ayers of Houston, Texas; sister, Loretta A. Starr of Logan; special friend, Diane Sargent of Logan and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her aunt, Zelma Smith-Howard.

A private entombment services will be held in New Fairview Mausoleum, Rockbridge, with Rev. David Sherman officiating.  Friends may call at Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, on Saturday, from 6-8 p.m.
