Doris Elaine Matheny

Doris Elaine Matheny, 86, of Stockport, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Riverside Landing Nursing and Rehabilitation in McConnelsville, surrounded by family and friends.  She was born March 22, 1932 in Nelsonville, daughter of the late Floyd and Alma Hale Potts.  She was the widow of the late Jerry Matheny.

Doris is survived by grandchildren, Tracy (Dwight) Matheny of Pickerington, Brian Matheny of Columbus, Greg (Melissa) Groves of Canal Winchester and Kacie Groves of Pickerington; great grandchildren, Morgan Krupp, Austin Matheny, Blake Prior, Katie Bolden, Jacob Groves and Mason Russell; daughter-in-law, Jill Matheny of Baltimore; a sister, Patricia (Bill) James of Guysville and special friends, Sue Gray and Carol Hatem.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Jean Ann Matheny and Billy Joe Matheny.

The Matheny family would also like to thank the amazing staff at Riverside Landing Nursing and Rehabilitation for their amazing care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 11, 2018 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating.  Interment will be in Carbon Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
