Dorothy Jacquline Maffin, 82, of Waterford, passed away Tuesday March 24, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 6, 1938 in Hocking County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred and Nettie Dye Hemrick. She was married to the late William “Bill” Maffin who passed away in 1979.
Dorothy was a Homemaker, and attended Redtown Community Church. She was greatly loved by her family and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her loving children, Richard (Edith) Maffin of Gore, William Maffin of Nelsonville, Ray (Tina Stephen) Maffin of Waterford, Robert Maffin of Glouster, Ronald Maffin of Glouster, Ruth Ann Perrin of New Straitsville, Elizabeth (Lester) Harden of Glouster, Vicki (Anthony) Barnett of Logan and Betty (Claude) Garrett of Logan; thirty-three grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, John (Sharon) Hemrick of South Carolina; sister, Elma “Marie” Queen of Portsmouth; special friend and aide, Samantha Brooks; beloved pet dog, “Peaches”; several nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Maffin; grandchildren, Lloyd, Richard, Joseph, Amber, Ricky and Billy; great grandchildren, Tyler and Evan; brothers, Bill and Jake Hemrick; sister, Ann Wintermute; companion, Richard Duncan.
It was the wish of Dorothy to be cremated, and no services will be held at this time. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville.
