Dorothy I. Pierson

Dorothy Price Pierson, born to Lewis and Nellie Price on April 9, 1921, died peacefully at home with family on November 26th.

Dorothy was the widow to Floyd R. Pierson.  She worked as a secretary-typist for the Federal and State governments, Logan Clay Products, and retired from the Logan Hocking Health Department.

Her family was the most important thing in her life.  She loved to travel, read, quilt, and spend time with her loved ones.  She was a life member of Trinity United Methodist Church, 50-year member of HVCH Twig II, associate member of Psi Chapter, Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, member of Pure Gold Aerobics until she was 90, Water Aerobics Class, Wednesday Quilters of Trinity United Methodist Church, a 20-year member of Hocking County Quilters, and the Order of Eastern Star. She volunteered at Hocking Valley Community Hospital for 25 years and was very honored to receive the Dolly Kleinschmidt award in 2008, and the Eleanor Crow award in 2014.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Trudie Byrd of Springfield, Ohio; Ramie (Betsy) Pierson of Bainbridge, Ohio; Marsha Pierson of Petaluma, California, and Brad (Sue) Pierson of Browns Mills, New Jersey; twelve grandchildren: Rachel, Rachele, Rawnie, Andy, Mimi, Acha, Amber, Cambria, Jessica, Kristina, Brad Jr, and Cody; and 24 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 48 years, Floyd R Pierson and his parents Raymond and Florence; brothers Ernest (Margaret) Price; Carl (Helen) Price; Kenneth (Ray Ellen and Frances) Price; and sister Marjorie (Ralph) Riggs.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Logan Conference Center, 30682 Chieftain Dr., Logan, with Pastor Charlene R. Mitchell officiating.  Friends may call at the Logan Conference Center on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 9:30 am until the time of the service.

Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
