Dorothy Fay Wood

Dorothy Fay Wood, 65, of Guysville, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family.  Dorothy was born July 14, 1958, in Nelsonville, the daughter of the late Garnet (McDonald) Barnhart and Melvin Wood.

Dorothy was a selfless woman with a heart of gold.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Erma (James) Hogue of Glouster, Katherine Wood of Guysville, and Robin Mount of Guysville; grandchildren, Shian Hogue, Hannah Hogue, Jacquelyn McDaniel, GeorgiaAnn Dye, and Melvin Dye; great grandchildren, Esmae Moore and Lilly Hart; siblings, Randy Wood, Deb Koon, Linda Mount, Russell Wood, Anna Proffitt, Rose Ryan, Earl Wood, Betty Barnhart, and Steve Barnhart; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her companion of more than 40 years, Fred Mount; and brothers, Frank Wood, Gary Wood, and James Barnhart.

Private family services will be held. Arrangements are by the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
